What is my yoga level?

Updated October 16, 2026 · sources checked October 16, 2026

In short

Your yoga level depends less on flexibility than on regularity: how often you practise, whether you know a sun salutation by heart, whether you breathe and sit in meditation, and whether you have read the texts. Answer six questions to see your level and a next step that suits you.

Six honest questions about how you practise today. Nothing is sent: the result is calculated in your browser.

1/6 How often do you practise yoga?
2/6 For how long have you practised?
3/6 Can you follow a sun salutation (surya namaskar) on your own?
4/6 Do you practise breathing techniques (pranayama)?
5/6 Do you sit for meditation?
6/6 Have you read a classical text of yoga?

How the quiz works

Each answer counts from 0 to 3 points; the total, out of 18, gives one of four levels. It measures the habits that matter in the yoga tradition, regularity, breath, meditation and study, not how far you can bend. Whatever your result, practise within your limits and learn retentions, inversions and forceful breathing with a qualified teacher, as the US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health advises.
